So thanks to the white values of capitalism and industrialization, we are all brought to the brink of extinction. In a followup to my post yesterday entitled Oil, Global Warming, and our Near Extinction, today I go to Yahoo and see the folowing article on their main page: Humans on Verge of Causing 6th Great Mass Extinction.
According to a scientist featured in the article, “If the fossil record tells us one thing, it’s that when we kick over into a mass extinction regime, results are extreme, they’re irreversible and they’re unpredictable,”
Does anybody remember when all this talk about climate change started, politicians and pundits tried to turn it into a political issue? Saying things like “Global warming is a hoax” (Rush Limbaugh) and lobbying to weaken the Clean Air Act enforcement?
The environment is not a political issue. It is a human rights issue. We as human beings have the right to live in a clean and healthy environment, while eating clean and healthy foods. So really, this article shouldnt be called “Humans on Verge of Causing Mass Extinction”, it should be called “White Values on Verge of Causing Mass Extinction”. Let me explain:
In the past, we know the impact that “white values” have had on other cultures. Whites themselves have always had a culture of savagery. In fact, a leading white scholar by the name of Noam Chomosky had this to say of his people in a documentary that profiled his views:
“Europe was the most savage part of the world for 500 years. Part of the reason Europe conquered the world was because it had a culture of savagery that was beyond anything that anyone saw anywhere else …thats why small European armies could conquer big groups; partly they were ahead in the technology of war but partly it was just the culture. In fact, for centuries [European's] prime concern was to slaughter one another. That was part of the imposition of the Nation-state system. Its a brutal, murderous system. Everywhere its been imposed its been a disaster. It took centuries to impose it in Europe and it was centuries of savagery. Its not just the 20th century either! One 17th century war wiped out a third of the population of Germany! So its an extremely savage civilization that extended its atrocities all over the world and if anyone resisted they went berserk…they practically wiped the place out.”
So we know what happens when white values meets non-white cultures. Now take some time to think about the impact white values has had on nature:
- Native Americans lived in harmony with the ecosystem of North America for more than 12,000 years – only hunting as much as they needed, and then using every part of the animal when they killed it. When white settlers arrived in North America, the Bison were hunted almost to extinction and were reduced to a few hundred by the mid-1880s. They were hunted for their skins and left the rest of the animal behind to decay on the ground.
- South Africans also lived in harmony with their ecosystems, but when White explorers landed there, they hunted each and every quagga down and killed them. The last wild quagga was probably shot in the late 1870s, and the last specimen in captivity died on August 12, 1883 at the Artis Magistra zoo in Amsterdam.
- Whites specifically have also hunted the Dodo into extinction, supported the ivory and skin trade that almost hunted African Elephants and Leopards into extinction, have hunted the largest lion ever to exist – the Cave Lion, the Aurochs cattle, the Caspian Tigers, the defenseless Sea Cow, and the Tasmanian Tiger all into extinction.
Now look at what has been going on on the African continent since whites discovered its mineral wealth: mass deforestation, mass excavation, and mass exportation. During Europe’s own Industrial revolution, conditions were described as such:
“Chimneys, bridges and factory smoke blocked out most of the light in the towns. A layer of dirty smoke often covered the streets like a blanket.”
All in the name of making money. In 2005, The Kyoto Protocol was celebrated as a lifeline to save our planet from disastrous human-caused effects of a warming global climate. 141 nations signed on. America did not, since the Protocol demanded a reduction in Greenhouse gasses, and America, being one of the biggest producers, would have had to cut production (and thus make less money).
Thanks to capitalism and industrialization, we are all brought to the brink of extinction.
Look at what white values have done to us and our world. Is this really what we, the Original People of the Earth want for ourselves and our planet? Do we want to keep supporting the white values of industrialization and capitalization at all costs? Or do we want to bring balance back to the order of things? Do we want to SET OURSELVES AND OUR PLANET FREE FROM WHITE DOMINATION AND WHITE VALUES?
