Since United Black America launched in 2010, there have been several new social media platforms that have really gotten popular. Between managing this site, doing our work in the community, and balancing our work and family lives, the staff here has been slow to keep up with these new platforms. This is frustrating for our followers, and for us too.
So after reviewing how we do business, I thought I would fill you in on our new social media strategy. The idea is to start effectively use these new applications to push our mission forward (and that mission is simply “To spread Black consciousness and Pan-African unification”).
Facebook is where we team up- Facebook will be where we directly interact with other project teams across the country. If you own a business, have an upcoming event, or are working on a project that you would like our help with, Facebook is the place to do it. If you havent done so already, add me as a friend, like our Facebook page, and join + contribute to our group.

Twitter is like our news feed. If you check out our timeline, theres debate, breaking news, roundtable discussions, and commercials. Its by far our strongest social media presence, so thats the best place to start connecting with us!

Tumblr is our art gallery – Photos, illustrations, smart charts, and infographics will all be loaded into tumblr. Nobody wants to go digging through a timeline looking for a picture, and trying to search through Google images can be irritating at times. Tumblr will be like a United Black America art museum. Theres no pressure to join, sign up, like, or do anything else but enjoy the pics.

Guess what we are going to use our Youtube Channel for….VIDEOS! Youtube is where we post all of our videos – lectures, contest videos, events, conscious hip hop music, seminars, and documentaries.
