Where Are All The Good Single Black Men?

March is Black Manhood, Womanhood, and Relationships month here at United Black America.
In response to our post entitled Black women should look outside their race for a successful man?!?!, many women argued that with so many Black men incarcerated, unemployed, and “under-educated”, how could they not look outside our race for a man? While everyone has their opinion and criteria, our partners over at Best Black Dating Sites.Org prepared this infographic challenging the assumption that there are no good, qualified, available Black men on the market.

If these numbers are accurate, there may be something to that claim, and a call to accountability for Black men!

    People who use statistics should understand them before making claims. These events are not mutually exclusive, these stats are likely to be double dipping in the same pond. For example, the 30% of men who have a record also are likely to have issues finding a job that makes at least $30,000 and or having a job period.

    Second, you should compare the same situations for women. If 1/3 of men have kids with other women, how many women have kids with other men? Really there could be 70% child free men for 70% child free women. Same thing for jobs, salary, convictions, heterosexuality, etc. There is an assumption that these 100 women don’t have any of these issues.

    My take, is that people write these stats to create a false emergency. Black Men are amazing, and just like Black Women are amazing, everybody has an idea of what they want, by the time they find people who meet the requirements the pool is few for everybody which is okay because you only need one husband.
