Usually we take a pretty serious stance over here at United Black America, but as we scan the global newswires for Pan-African news, we come across some pretty amazing/scary/ridiculous ish.
Most of the weird news that we get from Nigeria concerns money, and the things people in that country do to make a buck. We have all gotten a spam email from a Nigerian “prince” who wants to deposit $50 Million U.S. into our bank accounts if we would just send over $1,000 to cover the transaction costs. (If you have yet to get an email of that sort then take my advice…do NOT send $1,000 to Nigeria. LOL. I’m laughing as I type this, but these scams wouldn’t be around if SOMEBODY didn’t fall for them!) The email thing is pretty tame compared to these hustlers …
Cannibal Who “Sells Body Parts to Churches and Ritualists” Busted
“Hungry”
According to this story, “Joshua Akindele, a 56-year-old man was caught by a vigilante group along Badagry-Seme border where he allegedly eats and sells human parts for ritual purposes.
Before his arrest, the man who hails from Etokia Local Government in Ogun State was spotted by one Anthony Amos as he crawled into a hole under the Gbaji bridge.
Joshua who had once served a 5-year jail term for raping a minor, confessed that he had been into cannibalism and ritual killing for the past 15 years, after being introduced to the business by a friend.”
According to him, “I have been in this business for the past 15 years after my friend advised me to stop watching and to join him in ritual killing and cannibalism. Whenever I see somebody walking alone without being conscious of who is watching, I walk slowly up to them and use a big ply wood to hit them on their heads after which they fall unconscious, I then drag them into the hole and use a knife to cut them into parts which I sell to some churches and some ready buyers who indulge in ritual killing for easy money, and some times when I feel hungry late in the night, I eat some parts for food.”
Detailing the price tags on the human parts, Joshua made a shocking revealing of how he sells the parts as follows: Heads N7,500, breast Nigerian $1,500, penis Nigerian $1000, hands and legs for Nigerian $3,500.
Narrating how he nabbed the human eater, Amos, member of a vigilante group said he was doing his normal security job on that fateful day; 21st of November, at about 1.am when he noticed a human figure crawling into a hole with a big bag saddled to his back.
He quickly alerted other members and they besieged him with a gun and ordered him to drop and open what he was carrying.
To their utmost dismay, when Joshua opened the bag,it was full of rotten human parts; skulls, legs, hands, breasts e.t.c.”
The obvious question was never asked: what the hell was the church doing with these body parts?

At first, we couldnt believe that this was legit, but after a brief search, we found out that the Nigerian “hook up” trade is booming. We already knew that older European women were flying in by the thousands every year to get some Mandingo, but apparently the market for “older, divorced Nigerian women” is just as lucrative. Here’s a screenshot from a very popular Nigerian forum:
Nigerians Selling Kidneys in Asia; $30,000 a Pop
Brings a whole new meaning to “selling your body”! Hers how this Nigerian scam works: Organ harvesters catch somebody slippin and slides a drug into their drink, or whacks a victim over the head (like our cannibal chef above) and places the body into a bathtub filled with ice. The harvester then removes the organs from the drugged patient, throws the kidney into an ice-box, and shuttles it off to an eagerly waiting transplant center packed with Asian, Middle Easterner, and European patients on the waiting list.
The organ travels along a sophisticated online and offline network of vendors, agents, re-sellers and hunters harvesters, who stay on the prowl. Oftentimes, young, poor Nigerians “donate” one of their kidneys in exchange for a cut of the estimated $200,000 that harvesters make upfront – usually around $5,000.
Of course, its not guaranteed that these “donors” will be able to spend the money later. Many die on the operating table or shortly after the operation.
This article isn’t meant to look down on Nigeria; these Black markets wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t someone on the receiving end ready to buy. But damnit….selling body arts to churches?! #SMDH
