Who Is Joseph Kony?

The Leader of the LRA, Joseph Kony

A picture is worth a thousand words. This video speaks volumes. Watch it now. It might be the most important video you see all day.

How We Screwed Up

Back in October of 2011, President Obama authorized a small group of Marines into Africa to destroy the Lords Resistance Army and capture Joseph Kony. We blasted the Obama decision as a continuation of American imperialism, and initially saw no need for such intervention.

After the video above came to our attention, we not only retract our previous criticism for the Obama administrations actions, but we encourage – demand – even more be done. For the United States t claim to represent certain virtues, and not bring Joseph Kony down is hypocritical.

United Black America stands for the redemption of our African homeland, and against anyone working against the progress of that mission. Joseph Kony is just such a person, and he must be stopped.

With that being said, we DO NOT fully suport the Kony 2012 movement.

Why United Black America DOES NOT Support the Kony 2012 Movement

STOP KONY 2012 CAMPAIN Who Is Joseph Kony (And How We Screwed Up)

Joseph Kony has been described as "worse than Hitler and Osama Bin Laden"

I dont know if the Stop Kony Movement is a scam, but here are three reasons why we cant endorse the Kony 2012 movement:

1. Invisible Children – the so-called non-profit behind the Make Joseph Kony Famous campaign has been condemned time and time again. Last year, the organization spent $8,676,614. Only 32% went to direct services. The rest went to films and payroll.

2. The film belittles the efforts of Pan-African revolutionaries that have fought against Joseph Kony for years. AFRICOM has tried to kill the guy for years, but failed due to fake-outs and bad funding. Also, hear what this Ugandan journalist had to say about the coverage Joseph Kony has received:

3. Supporting Kony 2012 means sending money straight to the Ugandan military, who are themselves committing atrocities, raping and looting away.

I encourage everyone to do their due diligence before jumping onto any old bandwagon, and remember that with white values serving as an archetype, we cant be sure of anyones motives in Africa!

Peace!

The numbers are problematic. Invisible Children – the so-called non-profit behind the Make Joseph Kony Famous campaign has been condemned time and time again. Last year, the organization spent $8,676,614. Only 32% went to direct services. The rest went to films and payroll.

So only 1 of 3 dollars goes to the children in services and 2 of 3 goes to films and payroll.

The video of the young lady is on target. How do they really expect that this one man has manipulated the entire system alone. He has no compatriots. who are those who aided and abetted him in this abusive system which was preying on children? And when they manage to bring him to justice, what of the children? What type of system will take over from Zony? Will it be the same system as before, on absent Zony? That is a joke.

Uganda has had a long line of dictators who take advantage of the people only to be replaced by another and the system of abuse remains intact. Sometimes, change is not change. This whole situation requires a lot more analysis. And this Invisible Children agency needs to be analysed as well. I am not saying they are not doing a good thing, but I am concerned that the profit motive in their plan is getting more funding than the children they are supposed to be helping.

We have seen it here in America. I have no doubt something could be done better than it is and should be considered. I will have more to say on this issue when I know more about it. Good get Asad. We need to stay abreast of this issue and when you have the chance , we need to look at ways we can become more pro-active than just posting and re-posting data. It is time we went to work and do the righteous thing by the name of the most high.

There are many who will find reason to stand on the sidelines and talk. We are doers. Not just hearers, but doers of the word are justified. Let us begin to do the work we have been called to do. This call goes out to any and all members of the diaspora who are ready to do more than just talk about our problems, but we must be ready to work actively within our own system to advance the cause of people of color. When MLK was asked what he would have his people do if the house he wanted to live in (America) was on fire, He replied.” I would have you become firemen.” We live in this country and though we have some racists and vile people who are reluctant to accept progress. Some may even want to destroy this country rather than share it with others….We cannot allow that to happen. There are generations of my families blood in this soil. This is our home and it matters not what others say, or think. MY brothers, our home is in danger of burning and we must become firemen. We must be the harbingers of peace. But we will not retreat as cowards, but stand strong as warriors fit to the battle. We must be prepared to protect our country against all enemies both foreign and domestic.
