Black statistics can be used to promote positive change, but can also be used as dangerous weapons against our people!
I was doing some research on the book lately and needed to find some current statistics on the conditions of Blacks in America. I wasn’t surprised to find most of the stats abysmal. Statistics can be useful for bringing attention to issues that we are disproportionately affected by, and can provoke us into collective action. However, statistics can also be used as a weapon against us.
When governments and institutions hear statistics, they feel a need to “do something” about the problem or use it as an opportunity to further their agenda. There is nothing wrong with that, unless that government or institution is driven by a white values system – a term that I will very clearly define in a later post.
You see, when politicians – who are organs of the white values based nation-state system – hear that there are more Black men in jail or prison than are gainfully employed, they automatically try to solve the problem – not with real solutions, but with warped policies. They will try to turn their attention to “solving the Black problem”. These solutions are almost always detrimental to our community. Past “solutions” included the Regan era War on Drugs and California’s “Three Strikes” law which was designed to scare people out of committing felonies. The law was an initiative mandating prison terms of 25-years-to-life for defendants convicted of a third felony and double minimum terms for second time offenders. What the law actually did was swell the prison population with Black men, since those who were convicted of a third felony had to be issued a 25-year plus sentence, even if the third felony was a minor offense. Thats how politicians screw things up, specifically when it comes to our people, and thats what makes statistics so danngerous when used by the wrong people to promote PROPAGANDA.
Negative statistics can also be used to make so-called scientific claims like Harvard psychologist Richard J. Herrnstein’s, namely that “It seems highly likely to us that both genes and the environment have something to do with racial differences [in intelligence and by extension achievement].” Herrnstein is the author of a book called “The Bell Curve”, where he claims that the gap between Black and white intelligence can be explained in part due to the genetic inferiority of Blacks. The psychological impact that claims like these have on Blacks in America are more dangerous and damaging than any of the problems that statistics seem to observe! How much effort would a Black student put forth if they falsely believe that they are genetically inferior to whites?
When you hear or read claims like that, you should immediately remember that Black men and women are the original people of the Earth. Our genes are the genes that conceptualized the worlds first languages, the world’s first spiritual systems, the worlds first civilizations, mathematics, astronomy, grand-scale architecture, metallurgy, and commerce. In the words of the Honorable Marcus Garvey, “If Blacks knew more of their glorious history, they would be more inclined to respect themselves.” Knowing our history and achievements will immunize you against bullshit claims that blacks are genetically and intellectually inferior; even if those comments come from the “scholarly” mouths of Ivy league professors!
Caucasians shouldn’t be discussing the Black problem, Blacks should be discussing the Caucasian problem!
As Black men and women of America and as the Original people of our Earth, let us shift our focus to the real problem on the planet: White values. White values have created systems all over the world that have been disastrous for all the indigenous cultures it has come into contact with. It is a system based on exploitation and capitalism. A system based on greed and hypocrisy and savagery. These traits are the exact opposite of what damn near every other indigenous culture on the planet supports, with very few exceptions.
So what should you do, you ask? First of all, pay attention to local and national politics, and stay on top of the Bills that are up for vote in your local legislative houses. Pay special attention to the impact that such legislation would have on statistics, or whether statistics are used to justify the passing of an anti-Black bill. If you operate or are a part of an organization, you can move to fight these bills and raise awareness within your own community concerning the dangers they pose. California’s “Three Strikes” law started out as a proposal that could have been destroyed by the large New Black Panther Party and Nation of Islam population in that state. But since people would rather watch a basketball game than save the lives of hundreds of thousands of inmates, we have a bill that sets precedent that other states can use. My organization has set up an alert system whenever a potentially dangerous bill is proposed, or whenever a potentially dangerous person is up for (re)-election. I also use this site to disseminate information along those same lines. For instance:
- Urgent Update: War on the Black Womb! –In that post, we brought to light that Population experts were calling for minimizing “population growth…occurring in poor countries, particularly Africa and South Asia”. If they agree that the population in poor countries can and should be minimized, they can agree that the population of poor people in America can and should be minimized. They could justify their move with the following statistic from the National Poverty Center: Poverty rates for blacks and Hispanics greatly exceed the national average. In 2009, 25.8 percent of blacks and 25.3 percent of Hispanics were poor, compared to 9.4 percent of non-Hispanic whites and 12.5 percent of Asians.
- In WTF?! Black Mother Gets Felony for Sending Kids to a “Better” School?! , we identified the Summit County Common Pleas Judge Patricia Cosgrove as the judge handing down Kelly Williams-Bolar’s sentence to help organizations in that area defeat her re-election attempts. Statistics used in the case included the 1 in 4 failure rate in Ms. Williams-Bolar’s school district.
- In The Scott Sisters (Screw the NAACP) , we highlighted injustices that are typical when it comes to our people in the state of Mississippi, Judge Marcus Gordon’s history of racially biased rulings, and gave recognition to a warrior by the name of Nancy Lockhart, who helped set the sisters free.
Secondly, work towards real solutions! Incarceration, welfare, “tough-on-crime” law enforcement, and zero-tolerance classrooms are all programs that claim to try to improve the conditions of the public but fail to address the real problems, and thus fail to provide real solutions. Community gardens that are operated by community youth as an after-school program provides a means of commerce, availability of fresh foods, and keeps kids gainfully occupied are an example that my organization utilizes.
Finally, Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that there is a “Black problem”. What sense does it make for whites to force their values upon us, set up political schemes like the “War on Drugs” to incarcerate us, support eugenics organizations like Planned Parenthood to euthanize our unborn, turn out neighborhoods into food deserts, dump low-quality tenured teachers into our public schools, and then complain about the “Black problem”?!?!?
Statistics should be used to prompt RIGHT ACTION, AND RIGHT KNOWLEDGE in the RIGHT DIRECTION, while also putting the focus where it belongs – on the failure of the white values system.
So in my opinion, Caucasians shouldn’t be discussing the Black problem, Blacks should be discussing the Caucasian problem!
