African Genesis

For those of you who have been Conscious for some time, you know that Christianity is both a recent invention, and the product of Africa. We know that the Bible that we have today was compiled 400 years after the (assumed) death of Christ, and that it was edited and reinterpreted during a series of meetings held in Europe. In these meetings, religious figures would come together to decide what the people should believe, and edited the Bible to reflect those beliefs.

For instance, The First Council of Nicaea (in 325) established the date of Easter as the first Sunday after the full moon (the Paschal Full Moon) following the northern hemisphere’s vernal equinox. Ecclesiastically, the equinox is reckoned to be on 21 March (even though the equinox occurs, astronomically speaking, on 20 March in most years), and the “Full Moon” is not necessarily the astronomically correct date. The date of Easter therefore varies between 22 March and 25 April. Eastern Christianity bases its calculations on the Julian calendar whose 21 March corresponds, during the 21st century, to 3 April in the Gregorian calendar, in which the celebration of Easter therefore varies between 4 April and 8 May.

So the date of Easter (by the way, Easter is named after a Roman God), the most important date in all of Christianity, varies between March 20th and May 8th. My birthday is on the same day every year. If my remains survive 2,000 years, those who see my tomb will know the day I was born (and the day I died). We are able to accurately maintain records of all the events around the life and times of Jesus Christ (just like we know Caesar was born on July 4, 100 BC and died on 15 March 44 BC), but no dates directly relate to the birth, life and death of the most important man ever to live?!

Why are there so few definites in Christianity?

I digress.

In my quest to understand the true origins of Christianity, my research has led me back to Africa, and to some of the oldest Black cultures on the planet. The first African Genesis story I came across was the Story of Ausar. But There are three creation stories remarkably similar to those found in Genesis, but that predate Christianity by thousands of years. Reading these might help you understand that the belief system you practice actually came from Africa, and has been bastardized and infected with white values.

Unumbotte

Unumbotte made a human being. Its name was Man. Unumbotte next created all the animals which dwell upon the Earth, including the snake. Then Unumbotte looked upon the surface of the Earth, and the land was rugged. He commanded man to till the Earth, saying “The earth has not yet been pounded. You must pound the ground smooth where you are sitting.” Unumbotte gave them seeds of all kinds, and said: “Go plant these.” Then Unumbotte went away. Unumbotte came back. He saw that only one of the seeds had sprouted and grown. It was a tree. It had grown tall and was bearing red fruit. Every seven days Unumbotte would return and pluck one of the red fruits.

One day Snake said: “We too should eat these fruits. Why must we go hungry?” Antelope said: “But we don’t know anything about this fruit.” Then Man and his wife took some of the fruit and ate it. Unumbotte came down from the sky and asked: “Who ate the fruit?” They answered: “We did.” Unumbotte asked: “Who told you that you could eat that fruit?” They replied: “Snake did . ” Unumbotte asked: “Why did you listen to Snake?” They said: “We were hungry.”

Unumbotte then gave sorghum to Man, also yams and millet. And the people gathered in eating groups that would always eat from the same bowl, never the bowls of the other groups it was from this that differences in language arose. And ever since then, the people have ruled the land.

But Snake was punished by Unumbotte, and only given a medicine with which to bite people.

Note: This story was taken from the Basari tribe of Guinea. A Christian missionary who heard the story in the 1900s wrote “Its important to know that as far as we know there has been no penetration of missionary influence to the Basari. I have therefore to reject the suggestion that a recent missionary influence may lie behind this tale.”

The Mbuti Account of Adam and Eve

nana baluku 182x300 African Genesis

The Mbuti of the Congo offer a story similar to the one found in the Bible concerning Adam and Eve.

God made the first man and woman and put them in a lush forest. They had everything they could possibly want; there was so much food that all they had to do was bend down and pick it up. God told them they should have children and that all humanity would live forever, and he let them do what they pleased. But he warned them: “Of all the fruit of the trees you may eat, but of the fruit of the tahu tree you may not eat.” Both promised not to.

The man wasnt interested in the fruit, but while the woman was pregnant, she was overcome with a craving for the fruit. She convinced her husband to sneak a piece of fruit to her, which he peeled and ate with her. They hid the peels under a pile of leaves so God wouldnt see what his spoiled children had done. Obviously, that didnt work.

“You have broken your promise to me, and for this you will now know what hard work is. You will suffer illness and you will die. And to the woman, she will know even greater pain in childbirth.

Once again, the similarities of this story to the one in Genesis is amazing. Keep in mind that the Mbuti people have told this story for thousands of years as an African Genesis story, whereas the Christian creation story is at best 1000 years old.

Nana Buluku

AfricanGoddess African Genesis

Nana Buluku is the West African Goddess of all creation who was worshipped by various tribes. She is also seen as the first woman of the Yoruba religion…the female thought of the creator god, Ashe. She is represented as being both female and male…a goddess and god in one great body.

As Nana Buruku, She is not only the first grandmother to all of the Divinities, but also the first human woman in the religion of the Yoruba, the ancient grandmother of the human race. It was of Nana Buluku that the cosmic twins Mawu (the Moon God) who inhabits the west and Lisa (the Sun God) who inhabits the east, were born. They are sometimes noted as the first man and woman. And it was from Mawu and Lisa came the Cosmic Egg and the Cosmic seed that germinated in the Egg, the creation of all that is.

So here, God is a woman!

I post pieces like this to inspire critical thinking and curiosity. Once a mind begins to consciously challenge the construct of the matrix and pay attention to factual evidence, then that mind can start to disassemble illusion.

Stop buying into bull as the “one and only supreme truth”, and start doing some truth-seeking. Christianity was African before it was Christianity.

Peace!

Great post, I'm compelled to learn more about Yoruba, that story is elaborately detailed but the similarities are striking. I love this article. Great read.

I will ask though, I feel like these religions tug on the heart strings of the human psyche, if these are so similar, do you think this also means these religions were used as a controlling factor in the actual (not recent European) ancient world?

I agree that Old testament isn't product of Western world. It's very ridiculous and extremely counter-productive that Western missioners go to all corners of the world to teach "their" religion. The common argument of these westerners is that traditional religions of Africa (and/or other places of their "missioner-ship") are POLY-theistic, while the religion that they teach (Christianity) is MONOtheistic. Of course monotheism is a higher form of worship than blind poly-theism. But the truth is that the most pure, most ancient form of traditional religions in tropical countries was MONO-theism! Last degraded into poly-theism later – with growth of egoism among people during many thousands years… In a nutshell, these observations can be summarized as: WHITE MEN SHELL NOT PREACH "THEIR" RELIGION TO BLACK MEN, BECAUSE BLACK MEN ALREADY HAVE IT. This is explained in details in works of many researchers, including Russian priest father Alexander Men' (assassinated some 20 years ago).

But I must also add that similar Creation stories are found in many cultures, you can't claim them to be of African origin, because you can't see very very remote past. From where did these stories arrive to Africa?

    • http://unitedblackamerica.com Asad

We can only continue to research the past to arrive at the truth. But we do know that knowledge migrated OUT of Africa as humans migrated, therefore we can be sure that these beliefs originated in Africa. Do you have any information to back your claim that the original religions were monotheistic? I dont necessarily disagree, I would just like you to build on the subject more.

      • http://www.sai-alex.ucoz.ru Sai-Laxman

Dear Asad. First tell me: on what level you would like to discuss this subject (of monotheism)? The fact is that most modern people tend to think like scientists. But science operates at the level of senses. And, therefore, it tends to believe in that what is "proved" (by their standards). With ancient knowledge it is quite different! Much of what we read in ancient scriptures was obtained by enlightened sages through SPIRITUAL methods, such as intuition, remote vision/hearing etc. These methods aren't considered valid by modern science simply because scientists don't have such skills developed (because they don't practice vegetarianism, meditation, chastity and other methods of purification of mind) and so.. To discuss some things with modern scientists who have neither intuition nor faith would be a waste of time.. They simply can't see that what is seen clearly by sages.

Well, part of information (but not all of it) was gathered by sages through methods which are considered valid even by modern scientists: extrapolation, logic etc. (This is how, for example, existence of atoms was uncovered by sages of ancient Bharath (India)). Anyway, shell you prefer "scientific" proofs, some can be found in "A history of religions" by father Alexandr Men', whom I mentioned in previous post: http://sai-alex.ucoz.ru/publ/written_by_others_or
(Not sure if this article exists in English, but you can have glimpses of what he says perhaps by using Google translator). The author mentions some evidences, collected in a field by many western researchers. Actually his work is a very beautiful combination of modern science and God-inspired intuition (many consider Men' a sage by the way).

        Jay Sai Ram!

        • http://sai-alex.ucoz.ru Sai-Laxman

As new day dawned, and I hope you digested that what was said yesterday, let me write some more.. Actually Google-translator gives very inaccurate, even sometimes misleading translation. So few more words about Men's book "History of religions", Vol 1., Chapter 10 called "Non-dual".

The very first line reads: "The religion evolved as result of weakening of man's connection with God".. How true, isn't it? Those indigenous folk who still live in some of the last remote tropical forests worship God in a VERY SIMPLE and VERY DIRECT WAY.. Apparently, Nature is their God! (And this statement: "Nature is God", or "Everything is God" – is a highest philosophy propagated, for example, by saints of India). Their lives can [to some good extent, skipping some perversions, which developed later...] be taken as present-day example of earlier form of religion: when man's connection with God was much stronger.. This is by the way the "scientific method" on which Alexandr Men relies: to take modern or recently-passed -days tribal people's lives, who's evolution was "frozen" deep in remote forests, as an example of what religion looked like thousands of years ago.. You see my point now? So A. Men analyzes many sets of data collected by many travelers of the recent past.. He realizes that many of these travelers were ignoramuses, for they considered forest peoples a savages without religion, while – in reality – these are travelers themselves who were savages.. Because often their conclusions about tribal people were based on lack of understanding local language, lack (or absence) of trust between themselves and locals etc.. Well, father Men' has done a great work by clarifying and correcting statements of western so-called scientists.. He supported his statements by observations of some of the most intelligent scientists, like Wilhelm Schmidt (1868–1954). "Savages can be found only in our civilized society. They're product of modern civilization" etc. As result of all this hard work of analyzing, summarizing etc. the following conclusion was made: THOUGH IT IS APPARENT THAT MOST COMMON PRACTICED FORMS OF RELIGIONS IN THESE REMOTE forested REGIONS WERE/ARE POLYTHEISM – IT IS ALSO APPARENT THAT THESE FORMS OF WORSHIP ARE representing DEGRADED FORMS OF MONOTHEISM. But it takes more time to support this last statement: by citing more and more.. This is a very serious and complex subject. I'm not even sure if anyone follows what I'm writing here.. (Actually, my conviction that earlier religions were monotheistic isn't based on articles and stories of Alexandr Men' alone.. I have "my own" so to say proofs, cause I had lived in some areas and among some people for quite long time, studied their religions etc.. My own firm convictions are two:

          1) paradise was not somewhere, but here on our Mother Earth

          2) earliest religion was one and it was monotheistis

Just cited Alexandr Men' because he is quite famous (and therefore, I thought, his words may sound more convincing for you). By the way, here is Men's English website: http://www.alexandermen.com/Main_Page
          God bless you.

          • http://unitedblackamerica.com Asad

Paradise WAS here, until we let this syste of white values destroy it, so Im with you on that first point. Secondly, we know that the Egyptian (Kemetic) religious system was one of the earliest religions. We also know that there were older faiths that contributed to their belief system as well. In Kemet, its believed that the first and monotheistic deity (Neter) was Ra who, by himself, came from the primordial "waters of the deep", and he gave birth to Shu and Tefnut. So Im with you on the second point. Thanks for taking the time to add to our collective stream of intelligence. Peace!

P.S. If you want to connect with me via phone, email me and I will hit you up with my number.

          • http://sai-alex.ucoz.ru Sai-Laxman

Why to repeat "we know", "we know".. What we know based on scientific findings is just a particle of dust comparing to REALITY. Today they find one bone and claim first people appeared in Africa and later migrated.. Tomorrow they find another piece of bone.. And, respectively – a new theory is born! And so on.. Every few years – new theory… Modern science is all waste of time/money. They open one door only to see a long corridor with hundred more doors closed.

I spent several years in tropics (initially started as wildlife biologist, but later converted completely into spirituality-researcher, if it can be called so).. I also studied tropical vegetation (eatable fruits/roots etc.). And, no matter what others may say, now I have my own TOTAL conviction that not only native people of Africa, but also people of many other countries used to be a very intelligent, highly-moral persons (comparing to westerners), and, as result, their surroundings too were very similar to what scriptures describe as paradise.. First – mind perversion, next – spoiling of surroundings.. Yes, like you said..

I think you mistake if your attempt to limit Old Testament's story of genesis to Africa alone.. Similar stories are found in many places as I said. Paradise (and exile from it) is a parable for what is known to Vedic rishis (men of wisdom) as "man's falling into samsara" (world of physical enjoyments and worries). The story is not limited by such boundaries as physical place/time.

What do we know of life in very remote times? Scientifically – nothing…

Next, you must be aware that animals in Paradise have no fear of man.. Therefore, I'm sure, long time ago – before egoism/polytheism etc. gained power – even people of African jungles (not to mention those who inhabited area of modern Bharath) were vegetarians! O.K., have a nice day. I don't use phone. I'll e-mail you.

  • Sai-Laxman

I sent you e-mail, but no reply.. Well, just one thing: if you want unite people on the basis of skin color/place of origin etc., this will be just one more faction.. Whole world is broken into pieces (and there is no PEACE) because of these factions.. Boring, primitive.. If you however, want unite people on some noble basis, that's different.. This basis is TRUTH, GOD, LOVE. Love ALL, serve All.. Bye
